Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.
(Book of Proverbs 3:5)
Some decisions in life seem simple. Others carry great weight and lasting consequences. Every day we face choices that shape our present and define our future. God’s Word teaches us that true wisdom is found not only in experience, but in fully trusting the Lord. When we surrender our ways to Him, we receive clear and secure direction.
Making wise decisions is more than choosing what is convenient. It is choosing what pleases God. Often, the right path requires sacrifice, patience, and faith. Yet every decision aligned with the Father’s will produces fruit of peace, growth, and spiritual maturity. God does not leave us alone in this process. He gives us the Holy Spirit, who guides us, warns us, and strengthens us.
Choosing well also requires discernment. Not everything that looks good is truly best. We need to examine our attitudes in the light of Scripture, seeking to understand whether our decisions reflect love, justice, and humility. When we fail, we have the grace of repentance and the opportunity to begin again.
Life is built one decision at a time. When we prioritize God’s will, we develop character, testimony, and confidence. May each of our decisions be an expression of faith, showing that we trust in the Lord above every circumstance.
On the right path
-
Seek God in prayer before making decisions, asking for wisdom, discernment, and peace in your heart to recognize His will.
-
Read God’s Word daily, allowing biblical principles to shape your thoughts, attitudes, and choices.
-
Seek counsel from mature believers who live by Christian principles and can guide you with balance, love, and responsibility.
Prayer:
Lord God, help me trust You in every decision I must make. Give me wisdom to choose what pleases You and courage to reject what does not come from You. May my heart be sensitive to Your voice and firm in Your Word. Guide my steps, strengthen my faith, and shape my character according to Your will. In the name of Jesus, amen.
