You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.
(Hebrews 10:36)
At some point, you have probably questioned—either yourself or God—about the reality of suffering. It is truly painful to watch someone we love go through hardship, and it is just as difficult when we are the ones facing affliction, whether in our family life, health, finances, school, or relationships. It is not easy when health begins to fail, when unemployment comes unexpectedly, or when it feels like everything around us is starting to fall apart.
But today’s verse emphasizes something deeply important: PERSEVERANCE.
There are many passages in Scripture that encourage us to remain steadfast in God when we face life’s challenges. Jesus Himself said in Luke 21:19, “By your endurance you will gain your lives.” So take courage in Christ and in His Word. You are not alone. God is in control, and He will strengthen you to face pain and suffering even today.
Persevere in the Midst of Difficulties
Do not lose heart or allow your faith to weaken when trials come your way.
God never promised to explain the “why” behind every hardship we face. Yet He fully knows the “purpose” behind each one.
God has promised that He will be with you at all times. Hold firmly to Him through prayer and through reading His Word.
Stand firm—Jesus is present, and He will help you persevere until the very end.
Prayer
Lord God, help me remain steadfast in You. May nothing in this world, no painful circumstance or adversity, ever separate me from Your great love. Thank You because You are always with me. Give me courage and strength to overcome suffering and remain faithful until the end. In Jesus’ name, amen.
