...But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
Grace is the undeserved favor that God has toward us. This goodness gives everyone who believes in Jesus an eternal and wonderful security, far greater than anything we could ever imagine. The apostle Paul received these words from God after praying three times for healing from an illness he described as a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12).
“My grace is sufficient for you.” That was the answer he received from the Father. Perhaps Paul expected to be healed or restored immediately, but in that moment, the greatest miracle was realizing God’s care over his life and the strength He provided day after day. No matter the circumstance, Christ was present.
Many times, we cannot understand why certain sufferings come into our lives. The reality is that they reveal our weakness, our limitations, and our dependence on the One who created us. When all our personal resources are exhausted, we can trust that the Father’s power will be perfected in us each day. In the midst of life’s trials, He renews our strength. Seek the Lord and trust completely in His goodness and mercy.
Comforting Grace in the Midst of Pain
Pray and surrender all your “thorns” and afflictions to God. He hears you and helps you.
Trust that God’s grace and presence are with you right now and wherever you go.
Praise Him! Even in the midst of affliction, believe that in Jesus Christ there is relief for every suffering.
Read the Bible and make every effort to know God more deeply. His Word will increase your faith and renew your hope.
Do not lose faith. Seek the Lord. Jesus is your strength, and in His presence there is salvation and victory.
Prayer
Lord God, strengthen my faith when I go through struggles, pain, and affliction. When my strength fails, I know that Your power remains unshaken forever. Establish my life and sustain me, Father. Embrace me and comfort me when everything feels difficult, for You alone are my Lord and my God. Shape my life according to Your will and teach me to trust that Your grace is enough for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
